NURTURING PEACE IN DIVERSITY, FIKOM UG COMMEMORATES VESAK DAY 2570 BE
Vesak Day 2570 BE is a sacred commemoration for Buddhists to honor three important events in the life of Siddhartha Gautama: his birth, his attainment of enlightenment, and his passing. This commemoration holds not only spiritual meaning, but also universal messages of peace, compassion, wisdom, and care for others.
Amid a diverse society, Vesak serves as an important reminder to continue maintaining harmony and respecting differences. The values of peace reflected in this commemoration can serve as a foundation for building better social relationships, including within an academic environment that is open, inclusive, and respectful.
The extended family of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Gunadarma University, views Vesak Day as a space for reflection to cultivate inner peace, wisdom in attitude, and care in interacting with others. In the context of communication science, these values are in line with the importance of building polite, empathetic communication that strengthens togetherness.
Through the commemoration of Vesak Day 2570 BE, FIKOM UG invites all members of the academic community to continue nurturing peace in diversity. Mutual respect, openness to differences, and care for others are essential parts of creating a harmonious and meaningful campus life.
May the light of Vesak’s wisdom serve as an inspiration to continue spreading kindness, preserving peace, and strengthening brotherhood in shared life.
Happy Vesak Day 2570 BE to all Buddhists who celebrate it.
May peace and happiness always be with all beings.
