This achievement is the result of her outstanding dedication and hard work, which led her to defend her dissertation titled “Academic Performance Model of Students in Blended Learning Viewed from the Personality of Conscientiousness, Self-Efficacy, Social Support Perception, and Self-Regulated Learning Mediated by Digital Literacy.”

In her research, Dr. Ocvita Ardhiani reveals that digital literacy goes beyond just technical skills; it also includes cognitive and socio-emotional skills that help students search for, evaluate, and use credible information in learning contexts. This aspect of digital literacy has become increasingly crucial in today’s digital era.

Interestingly, her study also demonstrates that two psychological factors—self-efficacy and conscientiousness—have a significant role in helping students achieve excellent academic performance. Self-efficacy, or the belief in one’s ability to achieve goals, and conscientiousness, reflecting discipline and responsibility, were found to have a major impact on academic success, especially in technology-based learning environments like blended learning.

These findings are a significant contribution to the field of education, particularly in the use of digital technologies in teaching and learning. The model developed by Dr. Ocvita can serve as a new reference in designing more effective learning systems that combine psychological factors and technology to support students’ academic performance.

The academic community of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Gunadarma proudly congratulates Dr. Endah Purwitasari, S.I.Kom., M.Si., a lecturer in the Bachelor of Communication Studies program, on successfully earning her Doctorate in Psychology with distinction. This prestigious achievement is a testament to her dedication and commitment to advancing knowledge, particularly in the field of educational psychology.

Dr. Endah Purwitasari successfully defended her dissertation, which addresses a highly relevant topic: The Role of Conscientiousness Personality Type, Achievement Motivation, and Parental Involvement in Student Engagement Mediated by Self-Efficacy (A Study on High School Students Implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in Greater Jakarta). This research offers significant contributions to understanding the factors that influence student engagement, especially within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Conducted with a sample of 235 high school students from the Greater Jakarta area, Dr. Endah’s research found that the personality trait of conscientiousness and achievement motivation significantly impact student engagement. The study highlights that students who are diligent, responsible, and achievement-oriented tend to be more engaged in their learning process. However, parental involvement did not have a direct significant impact on student engagement, even though parental support is often considered crucial in education.

The study further emphasizes the role of self-efficacy, or a student’s belief in their own abilities, as a critical mediator in the relationship between personality and achievement motivation with student engagement. This finding offers new insights that can serve as a foundation for designing more effective learning approaches, particularly those aimed at increasing student engagement in secondary education in Indonesia.

Dr. Endah’s achievement through this research not only enriches the field of educational psychology but also provides inspiration for the academic community and educators in Indonesia. In September 2024, BEM FIKOM UG organized a company visit to Net TV, providing an extraordinary experience for the students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Gunadarma. During the visit, participants gained firsthand insights into the working world of the television industry, from operations to future career opportunities.

Guided by professional teams from Net TV, students toured the office and attended sharing sessions about internship programs and career opportunities in the media. The event was further enlivened by an interactive quiz session that boosted participants’ enthusiasm and understanding.

Through this visit, FIKOM UG students gained new experiences, expanded their networks, and opened up opportunities to develop careers in the media industry.
