Hi, Fikomers. On October 30, 2024, the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Gunadarma had the opportunity to attend a Workshop and News Presenter Competition organized in collaboration with DAAI TV and AKMRTV. This event was designed to provide hands-on experience for students who want to develop their skills in broadcasting, particularly as news presenters.
During the workshop, participants received training from media industry professionals on news delivery techniques, mastering body language, and building confidence in front of the camera. Following the training session, participants also participated in the News Presenter Competition, showcasing their professional skills in delivering news.
Thank you to DAAI TV and AKOMRTV for their collaboration in this event. We hope this experience opens doors for Universitas Gunadarma students to pursue careers in broadcasting.
The academic community of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma, proudly congratulates Dr. Ocvita Ardhiani, S.I.Kom., M.Si., Lecturer and Staff of the Undergraduate Program in Communication Sciences at Universitas Gunadarma, who has successfully earned her Doctoral degree in Psychology from Universitas Gunadarma with the highest distinction.
This achievement is the result of her outstanding dedication and hard work, which led her to defend her dissertation titled “Academic Performance Model of Students in Blended Learning Viewed from the Personality of Conscientiousness, Self-Efficacy, Social Support Perception, and Self-Regulated Learning Mediated by Digital Literacy.”
In her research, Dr. Ocvita Ardhiani reveals that digital literacy goes beyond just technical skills; it also includes cognitive and socio-emotional skills that help students search for, evaluate, and use credible information in learning contexts. This aspect of digital literacy has become increasingly crucial in today’s digital era.
Interestingly, her study also demonstrates that two psychological factors—self-efficacy and conscientiousness—have a significant role in helping students achieve excellent academic performance. Self-efficacy, or the belief in one’s ability to achieve goals, and conscientiousness, reflecting discipline and responsibility, were found to have a major impact on academic success, especially in technology-based learning environments like blended learning.
These findings are a significant contribution to the field of education, particularly in the use of digital technologies in teaching and learning. The model developed by Dr. Ocvita can serve as a new reference in designing more effective learning systems that combine psychological factors and technology to support students’ academic performance.
We hope that this remarkable achievement will inspire all of us—whether educators or students—to continuously improve, innovate, and contribute more to the ever-evolving world of education. Once again, congratulations and success to Dr. Ocvita Ardhiani, S.I.Kom., M.Si.! We are proud to have you as part of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Gunadarma.

There’s no doubt that the Merdeka Internship Program has opened up numerous opportunities for students to dive into the professional world. One inspiring story comes from Nabila Camilia Putri, a student from the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Gunadarma (FIKOM UG), who had the opportunity to join the Merdeka Internship Program as a Content Writer & Copywriter at Blibli.com. This internship was part of MSIB Batch 6, lasting 4.5 months.
Throughout her internship, Nabila successfully applied the communication theories she learned in class to real-world scenarios. Every day, she was responsible for crafting effective messages and creating engaging content for Blibli’s internal audience. From writing articles and creating social media captions to assisting in internal communication campaigns, Nabila gained hands-on experience that strengthened her writing skills.
One of the most valuable experiences she gained was collaborating with the creative team and learning from experienced mentors. Working in a dynamic professional environment, Nabila learned a great deal about the importance of internal communication strategies, particularly in building employee engagement and reinforcing corporate culture. This experience also taught her that understanding the audience is crucial in creating content that can influence and motivate readers.
This program not only gave Nabila the chance to apply what she had learned but also expanded her understanding of the professional world, particularly in the field of writing. She now feels more prepared to face the challenges of the working world.
Curious about what Nabila has to say about her internship experience? “This experience truly opened my eyes to how important it is to understand good communication strategies in the workplace. I’m very grateful to have learned directly from professionals at Blibli and to have seen how the theories I studied in class can be applied in real life.”
For Fikomers who are interested in following in Nabila’s footsteps, take advantage of the Merdeka Internship Program! 🚀 Besides gaining experience, this program is the perfect platform to hone your skills and expand your professional network.
Be brave, step out of your comfort zone, join the Merdeka Internship Program, and seize the opportunity to succeed in the professional world!

Hello, Fikomers! In today’s competitive world, real work experience is invaluable. One of the students from the Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Gunadarma (FIKOM UG), Khansa Aulia Putri, exemplifies this by participating in the Merdeka Internship Program through the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB) Batch 8. Khansa had the rare opportunity to work as a Videographer at the Secretariat of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), an experience that not only expanded her academic knowledge but also enriched her professional skills.
For a full semester, Khansa didn’t just learn the theory behind video production; she also got involved in real projects. From planning, shooting, to editing, Khansa played an active role in various activities conducted by Kemenpora. This hands-on experience allowed her to deepen her understanding of the videography world, including the challenges and dynamics of working in the field. Moreover, Khansa learned how to work in a professional team, adapt to the work culture in a government agency, and develop soft skills like time management, communication, and collaboration.
Khansa admitted that this internship gave her invaluable lessons that are hard to acquire solely from classroom learning. “This internship truly opened my eyes to the real working world. In addition to improving my technical skills, I also learned many new things that are not formally taught in class,” she said.
The Kampus Merdeka Program, initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, aims to provide students with opportunities to learn directly from industry. FIKOM UG students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to develop themselves and enhance their competitiveness in the workforce. Through this program, students can intern in various industries relevant to their field, from media and advertising to government agencies like Khansa did.
With experiences like Khansa’s, FIKOM UG students are expected to feel more motivated to explore the professional world early on. This is a golden opportunity to not only learn from hands-on experience but also to build professional networks that will be valuable in the future.
For Fikomers who are interested in following in Khansa’s footsteps and improving their skills while gaining real-world experience, don’t miss the opportunity offered by the Kampus Merdeka Program. Let’s maximize your potential, explore your abilities, and be prepared to compete in the era of Industry 4.0!
