In today’s competitive world, real work experience is invaluable. One of the students from the Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Gunadarma (FIKOM UG), Khansa Aulia Putri, exemplifies this by participating in the Merdeka Internship Program through the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB) Batch 8. Khansa had the rare opportunity to work as a Videographer at the Secretariat of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), an experience that not only expanded her academic knowledge but also enriched her professional skills.
For a full semester, Khansa didn’t just learn the theory behind video production; she also got involved in real projects. From planning, shooting, to editing, Khansa played an active role in various activities conducted by Kemenpora. This hands-on experience allowed her to deepen her understanding of the videography world, including the challenges and dynamics of working in the field. Moreover, Khansa learned how to work in a professional team, adapt to the work culture in a government agency, and develop soft skills like time management, communication, and collaboration.
Khansa admitted that this internship gave her invaluable lessons that are hard to acquire solely from classroom learning. “This internship truly opened my eyes to the real working world. In addition to improving my technical skills, I also learned many new things that are not formally taught in class,” she said.
The Kampus Merdeka Program, initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, aims to provide students with opportunities to learn directly from industry. FIKOM UG students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to develop themselves and enhance their competitiveness in the workforce. Through this program, students can intern in various industries relevant to their field, from media and advertising to government agencies like Khansa did.

Don’t forget, the deadline for filling out and printing KRS for classes 1 to 4 is November 25, 2024. Additionally, the Mid-Semester Examinations (UTS) will be held from December 9 to December 24, 2024.

On September 26, 2024, the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Gunadarma (FIKOM UG) completed the online assessment for FIBAA international accreditation.

After successfully completing the first day, today, September 25, 2024, the Communication Science Study Program at Universitas Gunadarma continues the FIBAA International Accreditation process online. In the spirit of unity and gratitude, the entire academic community of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Gunadarma University wishes you a Happy Commemoration of the Birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW 1446 H. This historical moment serves as a reminder of the birth of Rasulullah SAW, the bearer of a message filled with love, compassion, and guidance for all of humanity.
The commemoration of Maulid Nabi is a special time to reflect on his life journey, his noble character, and his dedication to spreading the peaceful teachings of Islam. Rasulullah SAW is the best example sent by Allah SWT for mankind, as mentioned in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example.” (QS. Al-Ahzab: 21)
This Rabiul Awal, which we joyfully welcome, is a chance to increase good deeds, engage in dhikr, and offer prayers as a form of gratitude for the presence of Prophet Muhammad SAW, who brought light into our lives. Let this moment remind us to continually improve ourselves, emulate the noble qualities of Rasulullah in our daily lives, and strengthen our relationship with Allah SWT and others.
