WORKSHOP ON THE USE OF OJS FOR JOURNAL MANAGEMENT AT THE FACULTY OF COMMUNICATION SCIENCES, UNIVERSITAS GUNADARMA
On Friday, August 22, 2025, the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma, participated in the Workshop on the Use of Open Journal System (OJS) for Journal Management organized by the Universitas Gunadarma Publication Team. The event took place at Room F8555, Campus F8, from 09:30 AM to 03:00 PM (WIB), and was attended by journal managers from various faculties.
The workshop featured Dr. Uwes Fatoni, Supervisory Board Member of Relawan Jurnal Indonesia, as the keynote speaker. He shared his expertise and best practices in using OJS, ranging from system configuration to journal management strategies aligned with international standards.
The event was moderated by Dr. Dinda Rakhma Fitriani, manager of Mediakom: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi. As an experienced academic journal manager, her role as moderator enriched the discussions, making them more interactive and relevant to the participants’ needs.
Through this workshop, participants gained in-depth insights into:
- Utilizing OJS as a digital-based journal management platform.
- Enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the editorial process.
- The importance of maintaining publication quality in accordance with reputable scientific standards.
- Strategies to advance journals toward national accreditation and international indexation.
With its practical approach, the workshop allowed participants to directly explore various OJS features, enabling them not only to understand the theory but also to acquire technical skills for professional journal management.
