Hello, Fikomers!
The Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma, has issued an official clarification and fraud alert to all students regarding the circulation of unauthorized information falsely claiming to be associated with the Television and Multimedia Practicum scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The circulating message requested a payment of IDR 600,000 to a personal BCA bank account, allegedly in connection with the practicum. FIKOM UG emphasizes that this payment request is not an official announcement from the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma, and has been identified as fraudulent in the faculty’s official clarification.
All students are strongly advised not to comply with this payment request and to always verify the authenticity of academic information through official communication channels.
CLARIFICATION REGARDING PRACTICUM PAYMENT INFORMATION
FIKOM UG reminds students to remain cautious of messages that misuse the names of the faculty, academic programs, laboratories, or academic activities to request money.
Specifically, regarding the circulating information about the Television and Multimedia Practicum on October 24, 2026, the request to transfer IDR 600,000 to the personal bank account mentioned in the message did not originate from any official FIKOM UG announcement.
Students are advised not to make payments based on private messages, links, or announcements whose authenticity has not been verified.
Any information concerning academic activities, practicums, or administrative requirements should first be confirmed with the faculty or relevant academic units through official communication channels.
RECOGNIZE AND BE CAUTIOUS OF SUSPICIOUS INFORMATION
Fraudulent schemes impersonating educational institutions may exploit the names of academic activities, class schedules, or student administrative requirements to make their messages appear legitimate.
Therefore, Fikomers must remain vigilant, particularly when receiving messages requesting payments to personal bank accounts, pressuring recipients to transfer money immediately, or asking for personal information without clear explanations or verification.
Do not automatically trust a message simply because it mentions the name of the faculty, a lecturer, a laboratory, or a particular academic activity.
Check the source of the information, verify the identity of the sender, and seek confirmation before taking any action.
PROTECT PERSONAL DATA AND FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS
In addition to avoiding money transfers to unverified bank accounts, students are also encouraged to protect their personal information.
Never disclose sensitive information, such as passwords, One-Time Passwords (OTPs), PINs, or login credentials for academic and financial accounts, to individuals whose identities and authority cannot be verified.
If you receive a suspicious message, preserve evidence of the communication, including screenshots, the sender’s phone number, or the requested transaction details, to support reporting and verification.
Students who have already transferred money should immediately contact the relevant bank through its official customer service channels to report the transaction and request further assistance. Students may also submit a report to the faculty, accompanied by any available supporting evidence.
VERIFY INFORMATION THROUGH OFFICIAL FIKOM UG CHANNELS
The Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma, urges all students to exercise caution when receiving and sharing information.
If you encounter a message claiming to represent FIKOM UG and have doubts about its authenticity, immediately seek confirmation from the faculty, academic program, or relevant laboratory unit through official communication channels.
Students are also encouraged not to forward unverified information to prevent confusion and further dissemination of fraudulent messages.
Fikomers, stay alert and do not easily trust payment requests claiming to be associated with academic activities.
Do not transfer money, do not disclose personal information, and immediately report suspicious messages to authorized FIKOM UG representatives.
Let us work together to maintain information security and create a safe, responsible academic environment free from fraudulent practices.
FRAUD ALERT! CHECK THE SOURCE, VERIFY THE INFORMATION, AND DO NOT TRANSFER MONEY WITHOUT OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION.
