MAKING FIKOM UG PROUD: NOVIRA SYAFITRI SELECTED AS A GOOGLE STUDENT AMBASSADOR 2026

We are delighted to share another proud achievement by a student of the Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Gunadarma. Novira Syafitri, a FIKOM UG student from the Class of 2024, has been selected as a Google Student Ambassador 2026.
This achievement provides Novira with a valuable experience and demonstrates that having the courage to try and embrace opportunities can be the first step toward broader possibilities.
IT ALL BEGAN WITH THE COURAGE TO TRY
Novira’s journey through the Google Student Ambassador selection process began with her desire to explore a new opportunity. She completed a series of application stages, one of which required her to produce a YouTube video featuring an interview.
The process was a valuable experience in itself, as it required creativity, communication skills, and the confidence to present ideas through digital media.
After completing the application and selection process, Novira received the exciting news that she had successfully qualified and been selected as a Google Student Ambassador 2026.
Her achievement demonstrates that significant accomplishments can sometimes begin with a simple decision: having the courage to try.
AN OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP DIGITAL COMPETENCIES
As a Google Student Ambassador, Novira has the opportunity to broaden her experience while developing a range of skills relevant to the rapidly evolving digital world.
The program enables her to strengthen her digital competencies, gain access to various supporting resources, and expand her knowledge of how technology can be used in academic settings and everyday life.
This experience also offers opportunities to develop communication, creativity, collaboration, and leadership skills, all of which are increasingly important for young people amid rapid technological advancement.
BECOMING PART OF A COMMUNITY
Being selected as a Google Student Ambassador also allows Novira to become part of a community that connects students who share an interest in technology, innovation, and personal development.
Through this community, students can exchange experiences, build networks, develop ideas, and learn together how to make productive use of emerging technologies.
For Communication Science students, this experience is particularly relevant. Communication is becoming increasingly integrated with digital technology, making the ability to understand platforms, create content, manage communication, and engage with digital communities an essential competency.
COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE DIGITAL ERA
Technological advancements have significantly transformed how people communicate. Digital media now serve not only as channels for accessing information but also as spaces for building networks, creating meaningful work, collaborating, and exploring professional opportunities.
Communication Science students must therefore continue adapting to technological developments while understanding how technology can be used creatively, critically, ethically, and responsibly.
