FIKOM UG HOLDS A CURRICULUM REVIEW FGD: STRENGTHENING THE RELEVANCE OF COMMUNICATION STUDIES WITH INDUSTRY NEEDS

Hello, Fikomers!
The Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma, organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Curriculum Review of the Communication Studies Program under the theme “Professional Career Talks in Communication Studies with Industry.”
This initiative serves as a strategic step to ensure that the Communication Studies curriculum remains adaptive, relevant, and aligned with industry developments and workforce demands in the digital era.

Bridging Academia and Industry

The Curriculum Review FGD was designed as a constructive dialogue between academics and industry practitioners. Through this forum, the Communication Studies Program gathered direct input on:

  • the core competencies required of Communication Studies graduates,
  • emerging trends and demands within the communication industry, and
  • practical skills and soft skills that need to be strengthened in the curriculum.

The involvement of practitioners from various industry sectors is expected to enrich academic perspectives and help formulate a curriculum that is not only theoretical but also practical and future-oriented.

A Relevant and Competitive Curriculum

This curriculum review is part of FIKOM UG’s commitment to continuously improving educational quality and graduate competitiveness.
