The commemoration of Maulid Nabi is a special time to reflect on his life journey, his noble character, and his dedication to spreading the peaceful teachings of Islam. Rasulullah SAW is the best example sent by Allah SWT for mankind, as mentioned in the Qur’an:

This Rabiul Awal, which we joyfully welcome, is a chance to increase good deeds, engage in dhikr, and offer prayers as a form of gratitude for the presence of Prophet Muhammad SAW, who brought light into our lives. In January 2024, the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma (FIKOM UG), played an active role in one of the most important educational initiatives, the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the MBKM Relawan Pajak Renjani Curriculum. This event was organized by the Tax Center of Universitas Gunadarma and involved various stakeholders, including academics, tax practitioners, and representatives from the Directorate General of Taxes.
The discussion in this FGD aimed to formulate a more relevant and applicable curriculum for students, specifically related to the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Relawan Pajak program. Through this program, students are not only required to understand tax theory, but also have the opportunity to actively contribute to raising tax awareness within the community.
The MBKM Relawan Pajak program is designed to broaden students’ understanding of the Indonesian tax system while giving them the opportunity to be part of the solution to the challenges in the field of taxation. By actively participating in this program, students will learn firsthand about tax administration processes, tax policies, and effective communication strategies to raise public awareness about the importance of taxes.
FIKOM UG’s involvement in this FGD demonstrates the faculty’s commitment to not only developing students’ academic abilities but also equipping them with practical skills and experiences that will benefit their future careers. With a strong synergy between universities and the Directorate General of Taxes, it is hoped that the MBKM Relawan Pajak program will produce young generations who are concerned and serve as agents of change in increasing tax literacy and awareness in Indonesia.
This activity is also one of FIKOM UG’s strategic steps to encourage students to take advantage of the MBKM program, which provides flexibility for students to study outside the campus, expand their networks, and enrich their professional experience before graduation. Moreover, this program is expected to enhance students’ soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are essential in the workplace.
FIKOM UG’s participation in curriculum development marks a significant milestone in the faculty’s continuous efforts to grow and stay relevant to contemporary needs. Through various initiatives and collaborative programs, FIKOM UG is ready to produce graduates who not only excel in communication sciences but also have a broad perspective and awareness of social issues faced by the community.

Universitas Gunadarma is proud to announce the extraordinary achievement of one of its students, Karmen Anastasya S.A., who achieved remarkable success at the Mimika Regency Sports Week. This undergraduate student from the Communication Science program has proven that with hard work, dedication, and strong determination, great dreams can be realized.
In this highly competitive event, Karmen showcased her exceptional skills in the sport of Muaythai. She did not just compete but brought home a number of prestigious awards, including:

This achievement did not come easily. Karmen underwent intense and disciplined training, maintained a healthy diet, and ensured optimal sleep as part of her preparation. Her persistence in honing her skills and maintaining physical fitness became one of the key factors in her success. Karmen emphasized that focus and thorough preparation are essential in achieving the best results.
Moreover, Karmen highlighted the importance of prioritizing God in everything we do. She believes that every victory is a gift and blessing from God, as well as the result of prayers and hard work. “Always involve God in every step, never give up, and continue to pursue your dreams,” Karmen said, sharing an inspiring message with her peers.
Karmen’s achievement at the Mimika Regency Sports Week is not only a personal pride but also elevates the name of the Faculty of Communication Science at Universitas Gunadarma on the national sports stage. Her dedication and fighting spirit serve as an inspiration to other students to excel in various fields.
However, Karmen’s journey doesn’t stop here. After winning multiple awards at the regency level, she is preparing for a bigger challenge at the National Sports Week. Karmen hopes to continue giving her best, not only for herself but also to bring glory to her alma mater.

From July 29 to August 16, 2024, the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Gunadarma University held a Video Editing Certification Competency Test for students of the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Communication Sciences. This event was organized to provide students with the opportunity to assess and gain professional recognition for their technical skills in video editing.
The competency test aims to enhance students’ credibility in video editing and prepare them for the increasingly competitive demands of the creative industry. With this certification, FIKOM UG students not only receive formal recognition for their skills but also gain a competitive edge when entering the workforce in media and communication.
Moreover, this certification serves as concrete evidence that FIKOM UG students possess professionally recognized competencies, thereby increasing their chances of achieving a successful career in the creative industry.
We hope the results of this competency test are satisfactory and become a valuable asset for the students as they pursue their future careers. Through this initiative, we aim to motivate FIKOM UG students to continually develop themselves and excel in their fields.
On June 13, 2024, the Secretariat Building of Bogor Regency witnessed the hopeful beginnings of over 100 participants who took part in the central auditions of the Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka Bogor Regency 2024. The Multi-Purpose Hall 1 was filled with the spirit and enthusiasm of the participants, all of whom had one goal: to be a part of this prestigious event. The auditions, which consisted of document selection, height and weight measurements, and interviews with the judges, were the first gateway to the final round.
Out of hundreds of competitors, only 12 mojangs and 12 jajas passed and advanced to the next stage. Nikita, one of the Mojang candidates and a student from the Bachelor of Communication Sciences program at Gunadarma University, was still in shock and disbelief when her name was announced as a finalist on June 14, 2024. “I was definitely quite surprised that I made it through the central auditions and became one of the 12 finalist pairs to advance to the quarantine stage,” Nikita said. She acknowledged that the competition in the central auditions was very tight, with other participants also having extraordinary potential.
Next, the finalists underwent a series of pre-quarantine and quarantine processes from June 15 to July 14, 2024. This stage not only added to their knowledge but also strengthened the finalists’ mental and physical abilities. They received finalist sashes, attended online and offline briefings, and visited several important destinations in Bogor Regency, such as Pinus Ecopark and Pakuan University in Bogor. These activities were designed to equip them with broad knowledge, prepare them for the next stage, and strengthen relationships among the finalists.
The experience during quarantine became one of the most memorable moments for Nikita. “Quarantine is a series of activities that to this day, I still find hard to move on from,” she said. During the quarantine period, the finalists not only learned important materials but also built strong relationships with one another, making this experience even more unforgettable. Nikita felt that every moment during the quarantine provided new lessons and helped them become more mature individuals.
The day before the Grand Final, on July 19, 2024, the finalists underwent a final rehearsal at the Auditorium Building of the Secretariat of Bogor Regency. For Nikita, this was a very emotional moment. “That day marked the last days we could be together as 24 complete finalists,” Niki said, recalling how warm and close their relationship was during the quarantine period. This final rehearsal marked the last step before the competition’s climax, and mixed emotions enveloped the finalists.
The long-awaited day finally arrived—the Grand Final of Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka Bogor Regency 2024. This day was not only about determining the winners but also about celebrating the long journey the finalists had been on. The atmosphere backstage before the event started was very tense, but the finalists remained focused and tried to give their best. They went through a run-through of the final rehearsal, followed by hairdos, makeup, and a prayer session, hoping that everything would go smoothly.
When the moment of announcing the winner arrived, Nikita stood with mixed feelings. Holding hands with her closest friend during quarantine, Nikita felt a tense silence before the winner’s name was announced. When her name was called as the winner, Nikita felt a surge of emotions that were hard to describe. “To this day, I still find it difficult to describe what was going through my mind and what I felt at that moment,” Nikita said, her eyes still glistening with tears. Tears of joy streamed down her face as she was crowned Mojang Pinilih of Bogor Regency 2024.
In this emotional moment, Nikita felt deeply grateful to God and silently thanked her family and loved ones. “Lord Jesus, thank you for this beautiful plan. Mom and dad, I finally made it to this point. Grandma… look at Niki,” she said in her heart, remembering the support she had received all along. The support from family, friends, and even people she had just met made Niki feel very touched and grateful.
However, Nikita realized that this journey was not over yet. After winning the Mojang Jajaka Bogor Regency 2024, the next step was to face the Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka West Java 2024. “My journey doesn’t stop here. I will continue my journey to the next level, which is the Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka West Java 2024,” she said with enthusiasm.
Nikita also offered valuable advice to her friends who want to achieve success, not only in the pageant world but also in other fields. She emphasized the importance of self-confidence, doing everything with joy, and always surrendering to God. “Everything we do must be done with joy or wholeheartedly. Because when we put too much pressure on ourselves, everything will fall apart,” Nikita said, sharing one of the most valuable lessons she learned during the competition.
With full confidence, Niki moves forward, ready to face the next challenge and continue to make positive contributions to Bogor Regency, the surrounding community, and the academic community of Gunadarma University. “God knows what is best for you, win or lose, trust that everything is in God’s plan,” Nikita concluded with a smile.
