On September 26, 2024, the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Gunadarma (FIKOM UG) completed the online assessment for FIBAA international accreditation.
The final day involved a panel discussion with administration staff, addressing various important aspects such as student support, program management, alumni activities, and quality management. This process is a crucial step in ensuring that FIKOM UG’s educational quality meets international standards.

After successfully completing the first day, today, September 25, 2024, the Communication Science Study Program at Universitas Gunadarma continues the FIBAA International Accreditation process online. This accreditation is a significant milestone for FIKOM UG in its effort to enhance the quality of education and align with international standards.
On this second day, the focus is on panel interviews involving key elements of academic life at FIKOM UG, including faculty members, students, and alumni. The panel discussion covers crucial topics such as:
Student Support: How the program provides optimal guidance and services to students, both academically and non-academically.
Curriculum and Study Process: Reviewing the relevance of the curriculum, teaching methods, and the effectiveness of the study process to ensure students receive a quality education.
Consultation and Internships: How students are supported through academic advising and internship opportunities that help them transition into the professional world.
Involvement in Decision-Making: The importance of student and alumni participation in the decision-making process related to program development.
This process is part of the effort to ensure that the Undergraduate Communication Science Program (BPCOMS) meets international standards while continually innovating to provide the best education for its students. This historical moment serves as a reminder of the birth of Rasulullah SAW, the bearer of a message filled with love, compassion, and guidance for all of humanity.
The commemoration of Maulid Nabi is a special time to reflect on his life journey, his noble character, and his dedication to spreading the peaceful teachings of Islam. Rasulullah SAW is the best example sent by Allah SWT for mankind, as mentioned in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example.” (QS. Al-Ahzab: 21)
This Rabiul Awal, which we joyfully welcome, is a chance to increase good deeds, engage in dhikr, and offer prayers as a form of gratitude for the presence of Prophet Muhammad SAW, who brought light into our lives. Let this moment remind us to continually improve ourselves, emulate the noble qualities of Rasulullah in our daily lives, and strengthen our relationship with Allah SWT and others.

In January 2024, the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma (FIKOM UG), played an active role in one of the most important educational initiatives, the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the MBKM Relawan Pajak Renjani Curriculum. This event was organized by the Tax Center of Universitas Gunadarma and involved various stakeholders, including academics, tax practitioners, and representatives from the Directorate General of Taxes.
The discussion in this FGD aimed to formulate a more relevant and applicable curriculum for students, specifically related to the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Relawan Pajak program. Through this program, students are not only required to understand tax theory, but also have the opportunity to actively contribute to raising tax awareness within the community.
The MBKM Relawan Pajak program is designed to broaden students’ understanding of the Indonesian tax system while giving them the opportunity to be part of the solution to the challenges in the field of taxation. By actively participating in this program, students will learn firsthand about tax administration processes, tax policies, and effective communication strategies to raise public awareness about the importance of taxes.
FIKOM UG’s involvement in this FGD demonstrates the faculty’s commitment to not only developing students’ academic abilities but also equipping them with practical skills and experiences that will benefit their future careers. With a strong synergy between universities and the Directorate General of Taxes, it is hoped that the MBKM Relawan Pajak program will produce young generations who are concerned and serve as agents of change in increasing tax literacy and awareness in Indonesia.
This activity is also one of FIKOM UG’s strategic steps to encourage students to take advantage of the MBKM program, which provides flexibility for students to study outside the campus, expand their networks, and enrich their professional experience before graduation. Moreover, this program is expected to enhance students’ soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are essential in the workplace.
FIKOM UG’s participation in curriculum development marks a significant milestone in the faculty’s continuous efforts to grow and stay relevant to contemporary needs.
