HAPPY NATIONAL SPORTS DAY 2025

Today, September 9, 2025, we celebrate National Sports Day (Haornas)—a meaningful moment that reminds us all that sports are not merely physical activities but also an essential part of a healthy lifestyle that supports happiness, productivity, and overall quality of life.

As expressed by Karmen Ayorbaba, Alumna of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma:
“A healthy body will help you stay more focused, motivated, and productive in your studies.”
This message is especially relevant for us, students who face tight academic schedules every day. With a healthy body, learning becomes more effective, concentration improves, and creativity flows more easily.
Sports Are Simple and Can Start Small
Many people think that sports must always mean heavy workouts at the gym or competitive activities. In reality, simple movements are enough to keep our bodies active. Some examples include:
- Walking to campus or during daily activities.
- Doing light stretching between study or work sessions.
- Playing football or engaging in fun sports with friends.
The key is consistency and enthusiasm. Dedicate just 15–30 minutes per day, because our bodies are designed to move.
Sports as a Lifestyle, Not Just a Routine
Sports should not be viewed as a temporary obligation, but rather as a way of life. Just like studying and working, regular physical activity builds discipline, fosters self-confidence, and maintains mental balance.
With a fit body, we can carry out our daily routines with full energy while also being ready to contribute more meaningfully to our families, communities, and the nation.
