A Brief description of Bachelor Programme in Communications Science
Bachelor Programme in Communications Science (BPCOMS) was established on August 10, 2009 through a founding decree by the Minister of Education and Culture, number 1350/D/T/2009. Through the operational permit decree, number 8531/D/T/K-III/2011, dated August 25 2009. At the start of the operational activities, the BPCOMS only opened limited classes (not yet open to the public) for outstanding students with a full scholarship class scheme. In 2014 the BPCOMS carried out the first accreditation application process and was reaccredited again in 2017 with an A assessment result. Since its establishment, BPCOMS has received grade “A” Reaccreditation was obtained by BPCOMS, Universitas Gunadarma in 2022, with the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education 6610/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.Ppj/S/IX/2022. BPCOMS has developed and is spread across several locations/regions, such as in Depok Region, Kalimalang Region, Karawaci Region, and Cengkareng Region. In 2023, the Bachelor Programme in Communication Sciense expanding its reach by opening classes at Campus N located in Penajam Paser Utara, Kalimantan, through a decree 1805/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.P/S/V/2023.
Course Information
The Bachelor Programme in Communications Science curriculum has a total weight of 147 credits. Each school year consists of two semesters, namely even-numbered semester(s) in the beginning of the academic year (ATA) and odd-numbered semester(s) at the end of the academic year (PTA). Each semester consists of 16 weeks with 2 meetings used for the midterm and final semester exams. The maximum number of credits in one semester is 24 credits.

- The conversion between Gunadarma University Credit System and ECTS:
One(1) credit covers : 50 minutes of face to face activity in the classroom,
60 minutes for assignment
60 minutes for self-study
Therefore 1 (one) credit equals to 1.389 ECTS. - For subject with practice in laboratory, 1 (one) credit equals to 1.579 ECTS
- Six (6) credits of Undergraduate Thesis in semester 8 equals to 9.6 ECTS.
Selection Procedure
The admission requirements of Bachelor Programme in Communications Science (BPCOMS) referred to the Indonesian National Standards of Higher Education Institution (SN-DIKTI). ). Applicant for BPCOMS is requiring a diploma of the High School education level or 12 years’ primary-secondary education level equivalent. As part of the selection process, applicant is requiring passing grades on entrance tests, which are conducted independently by the university with the involvement of BPCOMS. Applicants have to take and pass the entrance test conducted independently by a computer-based test includes Test of Academic Potential (TPA) with a minimum score of 450 from a scale 200-800 and English Proficiency Test result (EPT) with a minimum score of 500 (TOEFL paper) equivalent. The final decision for the applicants is made by BPCOMS, acting on behalf of the University (Student Admission Centre).

All the administrative procedures for enrolment for domestic students’ are managed at the university level by the admission centre. Documents that are required to be submitted by the students during the enrolment process are as follows:

- Academic Transcript (A diploma of the High School education level or 12 years’ primary-secondary education level equivalent)
- Health certificates proving one is free from narcotics/prohibited drugs issued by authorised health institutions
- Formal Photo
