INAUGURATION AND NATIONAL WORKING MEETING OF ASPIKOM BOARD 2025–2029: FIKOM UG STRENGTHENS ITS COMMITMENT TO COLLABORATION FOR IMPACTFUL COMMUNICATION
The Inauguration and National Working Meeting of the Central Board of the Association of Indonesian Communication Science Higher Education Institutions (ASPIKOM) for the 2025–2029 period was successfully held at Universitas Sahid, Jakarta, on October 16–17, 2025. This event marked a strategic moment for Indonesia’s communication academia community to strengthen synergy in facing the challenges and opportunities of communication in the rapidly evolving digital era.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives from various universities affiliated with ASPIKOM, including the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma (FIKOM UG), which actively participated in the event. During the national forum, all participants agreed to strengthen the role of higher education institutions in building an ethical, innovative, and collaborative communication ecosystem.
FIKOM UG’s Role in Fostering Academic and Industry Collaboration
The participation of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Gunadarma, reflects the institution’s commitment to ASPIKOM’s vision, to bridge collaboration among academics, practitioners, and the communication industry. Through this active engagement, FIKOM UG continues to build cross-sector collaboration spaces that nurture excellent communication talents who are globally competitive and uphold professional ethics.
In the era of media convergence and digital transformation, the role of communication scholars is becoming increasingly crucial in ensuring that communication innovations remain grounded in moral values and social responsibility. FIKOM UG views its involvement in ASPIKOM not merely as institutional participation but as a strategic step in advancing communication science that is adaptive and impactful for society.
Towards an Impactful Communication Ecosystem
The 2025 ASPIKOM National Working Meeting also produced several key recommendations, including the strengthening of digital literacy based curricula, the enhancement of inter-university collaborative research, and synergy with the industry to build student competencies. These initiatives align with Universitas Gunadarma’s vision of delivering higher education that embodies the spirit of “Knowledge for Humanity.”
